For this week’s Sassy Fashionista, I’m moving away from romantic and lightweight summer fashion and instead focusing on embracing Fall finds.
Just in time for Vogue’s September Issue!
Love that rag and all its fall fashion.
One thing at the top of my seasonal fall list is a Little Brown Dress.
I’ve been loving brown for a while, and I’ve added several pieces in those shades to my closet, as I’ve shared here in the past. But the one thing I hadn’t yet found was a simple, stylish, and affordable brown dress.
Mission accomplished with this Anthropologie.com frock by English Factory (love the brand name). This one can be worn both on shoulder and off. It’s a rich shade of brown (cocoa) with a textured fabric. It fits me like a glove.
More and more I’m making fashion choices that are sleeker, better made, and lacking in unnecessary and noisy and distracting embellishments. While this dress doesn’t have the pockets I usually desire, I’m okay with it for this piece, which is very form fitting.
I want cool and comfortable clothes that make me feel good when I wear them. This dress does all that. And no itchy fabric, ever!
This soft pullover style can be hand washed (saving on cleaning bills). It’s made of polyester and just enough elastane to make it breathable. At $95, I think it’s a great buy.
Did I mention the color? Brown perfection.
This will be a good summer-to-fall transition piece. When the serious weather chill returns, I’ll add an oversized faux-leather jacket and ankle boots. This looks great with a wide belt, too. The black patent one in these photos was surprisingly affordable and purchased last spring from amazon.com. The Bonjour baseball cap was a fun, recent fall addition. The silver ring was a summer art-fair purchase.
Love high-low fashion!
This Little Brown Dress will be on repeat in my Sassy Fashionista closet for the foreseeable future. Which means I can check it off my fashion wish list.
Last Sunday, I even wore it for my annual Sunflower-field photo shoot.
Photo-shoot score!
