Last weekend I attended my yearly favorite art fair, just a couple of blocks outside my front door.
I went with no expectations of what I might find. I knew there would likely be something I wanted to make mine, as I have always found sweet treasures there in the past, especially jewelry.
I didn’t expect to find an affordable and beautifully crafted leather belt.
But I did.
I was already on the hunt for a double leather belt to wear with a full skirt I had recently ordered from Massimodutti.com, my first purchase ever made with them. It’s a full, lovely muted olive-green skirt with Italian fabric and flair. I knew a double belt would look perfect with it.
I found my belt at the bbkleatherdesigns.com booth, where they were making leather belts to order right on site, for men and women and with a minimal wait time. They hadn’t done a double belt before, but were up for the leather challenge, and only charged me another $20 for the style request. A sweet $110 fashion deal for this leather work that I already thought was incredibly well priced, and I told them so.
Belts are expensive, and many I’ve purchased or priced at greater cost don’t even come close to quality of these custom belts. They were available in three shades and several different buckle choices. You could also get a belt with stitching, which I did because it adds much finesse to the finished look.
My wait time was less than 40 minutes. I spent the time checking out other artist’s wares, and they texted me when my belt was done. Easy peasy.
Simply beautiful work. I am thrilled with this year’s art fair find, since a good belt has been on my fashion list for fall, and it is perfect with my new skirt.
Sassy Fashionista win win. Right outside my door. Pays to shop local.
I knew others would be happy to discover this terrific leather artist, so I decided to share their website here. The skirt is simply divine, too. I’ll buy from both again.
Have you picked up any great fashion finds at a local art fair this summer?
