Today is the annual World Down Syndrome Day, a global awareness day that recognizes and support efforts for children and adults with Down syndrome, an effort that has been observed by the United Nations (UN) since 2012.
It is also a day to Rock the Socks, and show your support by wearing wild, colorful socks. A fun effort that helps get people talking about Down syndrome. Always a good thing.
But the day is about so much more than just those crazy socks.
This year’s theme is “With Us Not For Us.“
