It’s that time of year when I share a few final Garden Moments words & photos with you before taking a big-blog-garden hiatus until Spring.
After two recent snowstorms, it’s definitely time to give up the garden ghost.
This will not be a year when we look out the window and wish for those first gentle flakes to fall on Christmas Eve. It’s already here with a snowy bam.
Fortunately, I was able to get my outdoor holiday decor finished early this year, using beautiful, fresh garland and wreaths scored at a lovely small Christmas Tree Farm in Northern Michigan. Did that before the latest blast of frigid air and white stuff hit hard.
I was even fortunate to do the decorating while wearing a light coat, while the weather hovered around 50 degrees and spirited birds were singing springtime.
Alas.
That unexpected aviary choral delight was short lived. But nature’s branches and sturdy strings of trusty Big-Box lights have added their own special seasonal magic to our outdoor space. As expected.
That will have to do for now.
Gratitude for seasonal blessings.
That said, if while traveling this winter I manage to capture some beautiful flower gardens somewhere warm and sunny, I will quickly add some of those captures here to help us all survive until spring.
For now, I’m wishing each one of you a beautiful holiday season, whatever you celebrate, and an early spring, too.
I’m already eager to put my hands into the warm dirt again.
Thank you for taking these Garden Moments blog rides with me this 2024 season.
I feel blessed.
Are you decorating your outside space for the holidays & wintertime, too?
