It's that time of year when I share a few final Garden Moments words & photos with you before taking a big-blog-garden hiatus until Spring....

Welcome to GARDEN MOMENTS & 15-Minute Fridays
I am so happy to announce this new creative gardening-adventure blog!
My love of gardening is one thing I inherited from my lovely mama. Marie also gifted me her kindness, quiet faith, and the habit of never showing up at a party without a hostess gift in hand.
As a child, I didn’t fully appreciate mom’s love of digging in wormy dirt for hours on end or waiting for flowers to blossom. It all seemed far too boring. Turns out, it was anything but.
I now understand my refusal to forgo protective gloves when tending to the garden. There’s nothing like scrubbing the earth from under your fingernails to prove this was a day well spent.
Who knew I would feel so elated watching buzzing bumble bees and butterflies and fleeting hummingbirds grace my garden after carefully selecting their favorite plants? Or, that I would become so moved by the sight of another Robin skillfully building a nest in my spring wreath—and become elated when baby-blue eggshell pieces on the porch announced new aviary birth?
Like millions of others, my garden time is golden, as soothing as late-afternoon light at the end of a day of intense heat and sticky humidity, when it’s finally cool enough to spray wilted posies.
This weekly series will share spring-garden cleanup, move on to plant selections/planting and porch pickings, then tackle fall cleanup and winter–garden prep. I hope it serves as a constant reminder to us all about the sacred blessings of fleeting garden moments.
Like mama, I could easily spend all day in my garden because she bequeathed me her greatest gift—gardening magic.
Let’s see what you and I can accomplish on 15-Minute Fridays.
