Few things in life are as devastating as experiencing the death of a child.
It throws your entire world into chaos and grief. It’s complex and messy.
I know, because I’ve experienced such gut-wrenching loss firsthand.
It is an incredibly difficult and daunting life event to survive on your own.
Fortunately, #TheCompassionateFriends is a wonderful organization that provides invaluable online support to families after the death of a child.
Part of that support includes an annual #WorldwideCandleLighting. This year’s 27th event will take place this Sunday, December 10th at 7 p.m. local time.
The goal is to light a candle for your child and help illuminate the heavens, while remembering your child’s life.
It is a beautiful, gentle, powerful, and meaningful holiday ritual that offers peace, support and healing to those that have lost a child, and it is one of our families most cherished annual traditions, too.
For one night, you are not alone in your grief. There is remarkable comfort in knowing that. You can also add your child’s name to the website’s Memorial Wall.
