It’s that time of year when I start paying attention to the early arrival of spring goods at my favorite fashion haunts.
Which always includes shopping T.J. Maxx.
Again.
I find that if you don’t get in on the early treasures, they often sell out.
Which means, you miss out on those lucky early season deals.
This spring, I’m in the market for a couple of new lightweight coats and jackets. The kind that helps ward off early spring chill; but not so warm they make you sweat.
I scored big on my recent TJ trip, leaving with a Michael Kors raincoat, a shorter, lined, pink Sam Edelman trench coat, and a lightweight, white corduroy jacket I’m featuring here today.
It’s another piece from one of my favorite current brands, the Parisian-style-focused Avec Les Filles, which I normally find for much more $$ at places like Anthropologie.
It is a new favorite of mine and I love everything I buy of theirs. I’m pretty darn happy T.J. Maxx is now carrying this brand. I’ve found more than one great piece there.
This was the only jacket of the brand available there on the day I shopped. It’s a large (I usually wear a medium), but I bought it. I actually like how this coat fits a bit oversized on me. I also found that if I tuck in one side of the jacket, it adds a bit more style to the look, while also helping me manage the slightly larger fit. It’s got some lovely details on it, too. Including nice buttons, always a plus.
Perhaps the best part? The jacket was marked down to $24.00 plus tax, from $29.99. I would have paid that much for it, too, because I know how much it would have cost me for this jacket elsewhere (maybe $130-150?).
I’m calling this one a big Sassy Fashionista steal, one which I will definitely get much wear out of this spring.
I’m wearing the jacket here with my favorite cuffed, oversized, Maeve Anthro jeans (which I really love), and a new simple new girly, choker necklace from Free People, which is still available online.
I feel ready for the first real spring day, which I sure hope comes soon…
How about you?
