Words Of FaithThe Best is Yet to Come-
For today's Spirit Sunday, I'm continuing my take on some of the wisdom shared two weeks ago from Melody Beattie's book, "Journey to the Heart." I...

Welcome to SUNDAY SPIRIT &
Words Of Faith
Like many people, faith is a topic I rarely talk a lot about unless asked—and yet it runs through the core of my being.
It is a critical piece of my human foundation and has allowed me to endure unnerving human suffering and the losses of those I love, especially my son.
Faith and spirituality mean different things to different people, and that’s okay. For me, faith is an unwavering belief in something greater than all our human eyes can see or comprehend. My core belief took root in childhood whenever I was outside playing. It is a feeling I still cannot fully explain, hear, taste, or see. But deep in my heart and soul, my faith has never wavered. I’m still in awe of its power.
Mine is a mix of traditional beliefs accented and solidified by the presence of the healing elements of nature. That kind of sums it up.
So, welcome to Sunday Spirit & Words of Faith, where I am more likely to share a beautiful Sunday photo of myself in nature than one in a magnificent cathedral. I have been moved by these places both spiritually and creatively. I have lit candles for loved ones and sent prayers into the universe in such beautiful places as the Cathedral of Notre Dame in Paris. I will never forget those powerful, faith-fueled moments.
I also believe strongly that the magic we search for can be found in the beauty of this world—and in the honorable deeds so many good people do for one another. We can see faith lived out every day of our lives when we pause for silence and reflection and then breathe it all in.
Faith is a mystery of the most beautiful, complex kind. I’m always searching for more of its magic. I believe one of the reasons so many people feel incredibly lost in today’s increasingly fragile world is from a lack of any faith practice, whatever that means to the individual.
This page will not be about traditional Sunday religious practices that too often turn people off from discussing faith. But rather, nature musings that highlight healing beauty available to all.
Consider it faith fuel for the journey.
As flawed humans, most are on a never-ending journey of self-discovery, and that should include questions of faith. I hope you will join me on my journey— and find your own way in the process.
Godspeed.
