This Sassy Fashionista has never been much of a fan of trench coats.
No matter how hard I’ve tried to like them, or how many fashion influencers in Paris say that a trench coat is a must in their wardrobe, I just wasn’t feeling it.
Until I found this terrific baby blue Kate Spade trench coat for $80 at T.J. Maxx last week.
There were only two and they had been carelessly and rudely tossed aside in the wrong aisle. But fashion-shopper professional that I am, I quickly spotted them.
The coat originally sold for almost $300!
In that moment, I finally got the whole trench-coat thing. ‘Cause I found a cute one.
I also think I’ve never found them attractive before because they are so often in rather bland shades of tan. And most are way too long for a petite girl like me.
But not this cute little rainy-day number!!
Not only is it in one of the hot colors for spring, baby blue- like a bird’s egg. But this shorter coat is so well made, and it is pleated in the back!!!! Beautiful fabric, a sassy and unexpected plaid lining, lined pockets, and nice buttons, extra touches you expect on a more expensive fashion item.
I love it.
Every so often you score a big fashion find at T.J. Maxx that makes you dance on the way to the checkout. This was one of those times.
The Kate Spade coat score was both a fashion find and a fashion steal. Not sure if you can get your hands on one, too. But check your local store in the coats department or try searching at tjmaxx.com.
